2022 End of Year Wrap-up
As the end of the year draws to a close, we have been reflecting on what has been a very big year for Castella.
We’ve brought a number of incredibly beautiful new products into our offering, we’ve seen how innovative and talented Australian designers are in the use of our products and we’ve collaborated with the wonderful Hydrowood team to create a truly special range of handles that are always a joy to send out to their new homes.
The Castella team would like to say thank you to our valued customers for continually supporting us throughout 2022.
The Stars of 2022 – Kereste, Imperia & Monaco
Earlier in the year, we introduced our Kereste handle range, a matching handle and knob in a rich, warm walnut with brushed brass accents and knurling end detail. We also added a new compact semi-circle style to our popular Gyre range, which has a simple geometric aesthetic. Followed by the Imperia and Monaco handle ranges, two simple and sophisticated styles that will transform an average space into something that’s not only highly functional, but also truly stunning.

New Collection – Hydrowood
Mid-Autumn, we launched our Murchison and Tarkine ranges of handcrafted Tasmanian timber handles, crafted from Tasmanian Oak sourced from Hydrowood. The solid timber is unique in its grain and texture, and adds warmth to any décor. This release was followed by the Tullah and Macquarie handles in Winter.
We were excited to bring to market our Hydrowood Collection – a collaboration with Tasmanian sustainable timber harvester of the same name. The ranges in this collection are designed by our in-house designers and 100% manufactured in Tasmania. We will be further developing our timber ranges in 2023 and are looking forward to sharing these with you. Our official release of the Hydrowood was at the Hobart Equinox Design Show in October and received a huge amount of interest from the Interior Design community.

New Product – Decade Appliance Pull Handles
Just this month we added an appliance pull to our Decade range. The Decade Appliance Pull is manufactured from Solid Brass, ideally suited to integrated appliances, as well as other larger cabinet and wardrobe doors. It is available in 2 sizes 395mm and 270mm (overall length) and 3 luxury finishes – Satin Brass, Dull Brushed Nickel and Polished Nickel.
Keep an eye out for Matt Black, a new finish for the range, which will be available in early 2023. The Decade is popular for Hamptons & Shaker style kitchens and given the subtlety and simplicity of design it suits most interior themes.

We love the Decade range! Made from solid brass for a quality look and feel, and a coordinating collection of cup pulls, knobs and handles for the perfect finishing touch to your cabinetry. Finishes: Dull Brushed Nickel, Polished Nickel, Satin Brass, Matt Black and Bronze. Cabinet knobs size: 35mm, 32mm, 38mm Cabinet handle size: 76mm cup pull, 95mm cup pull, 76mm handle, 102mm handle, 152mm handle and 203mm handle. Appliance pulls: 270mm, 395mm.
