Enhance Design with Handles

More and more architects, designers and builders are utilising the handle’s ability to enhance and highlight a variety of interior spaces, add interest and visual effect, as well as provide a functional solution for users. Interior specialists have long realised the importance of the role of the handle, not only in providing a practical solution, but also in supplementing and complementing the interior design.

Handles are used in every part of the home or commercial space and can be implemented anywhere a closed storage option is specified. Handles can be the central visual element when required to provide a specific look or feel – such as with a traditional kitchen where the handle needs to be chosen carefully to fit the overall design credentials of the space. Or, handles can be used in the background, to provide a practical solution but without overwhelming the design.

Part of our goal at Castella is to provide a range of handles to suit a variety of designs, so our clients can utilise the handle that best suits the style of the home or commercial premises and fits in with what their customer needs. Two of our most popular collections – Minimal and Artisan – allow you to do just that so let’s take a closer look at each of the options within both collections.

The Minimal Collection is perfect for a modern or contemporary design style and is excellent for space saving in compact areas or for where a long, sleek look needs to be maintained. These handles are perfect for providing the look and feel of handleless cabinetry and an elegant, seamless effect.

The Ledge cabinet pull is available in five finishes (matt black, matt white, polished stainless steel, satin stainless steel, and satin brass) and is ideal for spaces needing the look of handleless cabinetry but with the functionality of a handle. Ledge can be specified in 30mm, 100mm, 200mm, 300mm or 400mm lengths.

The Flush handle pull is a recessed handle, suited for spaces where “less is more”. Flush is available in five finishes (antique brass, satin chrome, polished chrome, matt black, and matt white), and four shapes – round (30mm and 40mm), oval (150mm), square (39mm and 50mm) or rectangle (145mm).

The Micro handle is compact and dainty making it ideal for a range of contemporary spaces. It can be specified in aluminium, polished chrome or matte black and is available in either 20mm or 30mm sizes. Its timeless style is enhanced with a simple recess to allow for functional use.

Slide is another of our recessed handles with a stunningly simple design that enhances the linear aesthetic of any modern or contemporary interior. It is available in matte black or satin stainless steel, in either 200mm, 250mm or 300mm lengths.

Cube is a nod to the beauty of clean geometry and was inspired by the symmetry of the block and repetition of a pattern. These solid square knobs are designed for spaces that are enhanced by strong lines and defined shapes. Cube is available in matte black and brushed gold, in either 18mm or 25mm size.

The Lips handle lip pull is available in two lengths (160mm and 224mm) and three finishes (satin chrome, polished chrome, and brushed nickel). Spanish design credentials provide the stunning shape, making it perfect for a range of interior styles.

Artisan Handles

Ideal for an industrial theme, as artisan handles combine raw materials with refined and elegant design to add a textural component to an interior space.

Harvest is an antique brass or brushed tin door handle with a matching knob with an intrinsically traditional style. Delicate lines are etched on the surface to add both a visual element and a tactile sensation. This handle is available in 34mm, 96mm or 128mm lengths.

Our Tudor handle, as the name suggests, was inspired by the style of the Tudor period and is available in Old American finish for a rich, sumptuous aesthetic. The handle can be mixed and matched as it is available in both a knob (32mm) and a handle (160mm).

The Plume cabinet handle and knob is available in antique brass and rustic tin, and features a beautiful curved swirl edge. This rustic handle is designed in Spain and was created to add warmth within a relaxed ambience. The knob is available in 30mm size and the handle measures 96mm centre-to-centre.

The stunning Tesselate handle showcases the beauty of geometry and symmetry, not just with the shape of the handle but also with its textured criss-cross etching. Tesselate is available in antique brass, oil rubbed bronze and brushed tin, in either 96mm or 128mm.

The Ripple antique handle is available in antique brass and rustic tin, in a knob and handle style. Its textured appearance adds to the pleasure of its use and provides an additional level of detail to any cabinet. Specify Ripple as either a 42mm knob or 96mm or 128mm handle.

The Hammer handle was inspired by the functionality and raw essence of the hammer, with its hand-forged appearance. Available in antique black, this handle comes in three sizes – 32mm, 160mm and 224mm centre-to-centre – and is perfect for any industrial-style interior.

The Chisel handle was again inspired by a centuries-old tool and features a chiselled edge to highlight the multi-dimensional effect. Designed in Italy, Chisel is a refined, simple addition to any interior and comes in antique brass or pewter in both handle (96mm) and knob (38mm) shapes.

The beauty of using handles in interior design is the ability to use them to enhance an aesthetic or really stamp out the style you are wanting to create. A handle can be the perfect finishing touch on a design to emphasise the theme of the space. At Castella, we understand the importance of style and substance, so we source our handles from quality suppliers with excellent design credentials to ensure we only provide our customers with the best options for their designs.
